Volunteer applicants for any parish ministry must fill out an application online and be a registered parishioner.
Following are the steps (once you click on the button above):
1. Scroll down the page to Jobs and Volunteer Opportunities.
2.In the 'search' bar Locations drop down box, select Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish - Florence, AZ. (Now only Assumption-specific jobs and volunteer opportunities will appear.
3. Click the Volunteer option.
4. Begin the process.
Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward,
and that the Master you are serving is Christ.

CCD Teachers
This rewarding position teaches our youth in our faith. The commitment is one hour weekly after the 9:30 AM Mass during the RE season (August - mid-May). To volunteer please call

Eucharist Ministers
These individuals assist during Mass with distribution of the body and blood of Christ.
Presentation of Gifts
Volunteer families present the bread and wine to the altar during the weekend Masses. This ministry is something that families can do together to be involved with the mass.
Lectors
At each Mass, these individuals assist the priest in reading the Word of God. The readings include the 1st and 2nd readings, the Responsorial Psalm (if not sung) and the Prayers of the Faithful.
Rosary Leader
These volunteers arrive 20 - 30 minutes before Mass and lead the Rosary for those in attendance. The Rosary Prayer group meets every Monday at 6:00 PM in the Gila Chapel to pray the Rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet.
Altar (Acolytes) Servers
Servers assist Fr. Callistus Iyorember at the altar during Mass.
Ushers
At each Mass, these individuals are responsible for directing parishioners to available seating, taking up the weekly collection and other special collections, distributing bulletins and other materials, and straightening the church after the Mass. The ushers keep things organized and secure the Sunday collection.
Martha Ministry
The parish offers a luncheon to all (registered and active) parishioners loved ones at their funeral.
When a member of our community dies, the Martha Ministry hosts a reception in honor of the lost loved one and grieving family after the mass or burial. Volunteers are needed for set up, serving and clean-up for Funeral Receptions. Receptions are held in the parish hall and usually take place Mondays - Fridays during the day. Providing food for receptions: Volunteers are contacted via e-mail or by phone and asked to provide salads, side dishes and desserts. If you would like us to add you to the call list, please email us at [email protected].
Music Ministry
Music has a beautiful way of making God’s word remain in our hearts. It can help us to ponder it as Mary did (e.g., Luke 2:19). The choir group sings every Sunday at the 9:30 AM Mass.
Knights of Columbus
